about

Let's call this the first real Glass Eyes record. It's our first time recording out of the house and the first time recording over the period of a couple days vs months and months. The other stuff we've got up on here is cool but this one sounds like a band made it. A black bloc is (from Wikipedia):

"A name given to groups of protesters who wear black clothing, scarves, sunglasses, ski masks, motorcycle helmets with padding, or other face-concealing and face-protecting items. The clothing is used to conceal marchers' identities, and hinder criminal prosecution, by making it difficult to distinguish between participants."

That has nothing to do with the lyrical themes of the album or anything, really. I just like how those words sound together. I hope you like the music,

about

The Glass Eyes Chicago, Illinois

Sporadic bouts of kindness separated by long droughts. Suffers from this seemingly sourceless sense of shame. But hey! This music's really good! Those dudes can play! That song sounded like Neil Young! ... more
